In February of this year, SprintRay* Inc, a manufacturer of high-tech 3D manufacturing solutions for dentists and dental technicians, and BEGO, the Bremen-based dental materials specialist with over 130 years of experience in the dental industry and more than 20 years of expertise in dental 3D printing, officially announced their 3D printing partnership. This includes the validation and supply of VarseoSmile Crown plus and VarseoSmile Temp, as well as other BEGO 3D printing materials, for use with the SprintRay Pro 3D printing ecosystem around the Pro 55 and Pro 95 3D printers and the Pro Cure post-processing unit. SprintRay Pro users are now able to print temporary and permanent restorations in the shortest possible time and at extremely low cost, providing an excellent user and patient experience.

VarseoSmile Crown plus is the world's first approved tooth-colored, ceramic-filled hybrid material for 3D printing of definitive restorations such as crowns, inlays, onlays and veneers. It has excellent mechanical properties, confirmed by scientific studies, that rival those of traditional crown materials. Combining VarseoSmile Crown plus with efficient 3D printing workflows, patients can receive same-day esthetic restorations printed by their dentists or their lab partners – at a material cost of only a few euros.

"We are very pleased to now be able to offer the VarseoSmile materials to our users in Europe," said Patrick Thurm, Managing Director of SprintRay Europe. "BEGO's 3D printing materials and our all-rounder, the SprintRay Pro 95, as well as our latest printer, the SprintRay Pro 55, are perfect partners for producing fast, cost-effective yet high-quality restoration solutions."

The Pro 55 offers industry-leading accuracy with an XY pixel size of 55 microns and pixel toning, making it perfect for work that requires razor-thin margins, such as temporary and definitive crowns, hybrid dentures and more. This makes the Pro 55 the ideal printer for practices and labs that specialize in restorative applications and who want to reduce treatment costs and times while improving workflow.

For all users who want to cover a wide range of indications with a 3D printer, the SprintRay Pro 95 is the optimal choice. "With a large printing platform, up to 16 dental arch models can be printed in one hour – that's unbeatable," Patrick Thurm continues.

"Dental 3D printing solutions are gaining ground over traditional methods of crown fabrication that involve chairside milling or analog techniques. For example, our VarseoSmile materials in combination with SprintRay 3D printers score particularly well in terms of cost, speed and customizability," said Thomas Kwiedor, Head of Business Development 3D Printing for BEGO. "The partnership with SprintRay is an important milestone for us to make our material portfolio available to the widest possible range of users and thus help countless laboratories, dental practices and, above all, patients."
